In the Studio!

Posted September 21, 2018

For the past four years, we have practiced, worked hard, and prayed earnestly for this moment. We prayed that 2018 would finally be our year to record. Our prayer are being answered!  Earlier in the year, we began talks with Matthew Holt, Gaither Vocal Band pianist, about producing our debut album. When Matthew was a child, he would play on stage with the Long Brothers when they sang in Matthew's hometown, McKenzie, TN. With the history between Matthew and the Long Family, this project has become even more special!

In late July, we traveled to Brentwood, TN to lay down the tracks. We are beyond excited to have Gaither Vocal band musicians Matthew Holt (Piano), Kevin Williams (Rhythm Guitar), Greg Ritchie (Drums) and professional Nashville recording musicians Kelly Back (Guitar) and Duncan Mullins (Bass Guitar) playing on our album. With Matthew as our producer and Daniel Howell (Bethel University) as the engineer, we know this project will be AMAZING!

We do not have a release date yet, but keep your ears and eyes open for the announcement!

Another year....

Posted Dec.27, 2016

Another year has come and gone....

Many families just celebrated the birth of Jesus and now the preparations for the new year has begun. We are preparing to say goodbye to a year that was difficult for many. I have heard people say, "So many legends have been taken from us this year. 2016 has been the worst!"

Today, we learned of the passing of Carrie Fisher. She was a legendary figure, forever immortalized in the Star Wars world. Now, she is gone. It seems that sometimes we forget how fragile and mortal we are until those that seem larger than life leave this world, whether that be a celebrity we look up to or someone close to us. There is not one more day promised to us, but if you are sitting there reading this, God has blessed you with this day. He has blessed you with this year, as tough as it may have been. He will continue to bless you all the days of your life each and every day you wake.

I love Christmas! The lights, the colors, the music, the MEANING. It is all so precious to me. But I always look forward to New Years. Even though there is no supernatural magical occurrence from 11:59 pm on December 31 to 12:00 am January 1, it still somehow feels like there is a new beginning. In our minds we are starting fresh and can redeem ourselves after the trying year that ended. We can resolve to be better spouses, parents, employees. We can promise ourselves we will be happier. We can tell God we will live better for Him this year and the years to follow. It is almost like a re-dedication of ourselves. A second chance to make it right. Oh how promising a new year always seems! It almost seems magical. In a way it is magical. If we are Children of God, we do get second chances, third chances, fourth chances and so on. There is no limit to God's love and forgiveness. None. So, chin up Children of God! God wants to bless you in the new year. Are you willing to accept?

Here's to 2017!
